Common questions

How do I paint?
Open any painting, tap a color in the palette at the bottom, then tap the areas with the same number. Pinch to zoom in on small areas. To see the whole palette at once, tap the small bar above the colors or swipe it up.

How do hints work?
You get 3 free hints every day. The hint button shows a remaining area of the selected color. When the free hints are used up, you can watch a short optional video to get another hint.

Does Paintora show ads?
Yes, the app is free and supported by ads: an optional video for an extra hint, a short video before converting your own photo, and a full-screen ad after a finished painting (at most once every 10 minutes). There are no subscriptions or in-app purchases.

How do I turn my own photo into a painting?
On the home screen, tap “Turn a photo into a painting” (also available in Settings → Upload a photo). Choose a photo, pick a detail level and convert. The photo is processed on your device and never uploaded. Your converted pictures appear in the “My Photos” collection.

Where are my finished paintings?
Tap the gallery icon at the top of the home screen. Open a finished painting to watch a replay of how you painted it or share it as an image or GIF. Achievements are in the gallery too.

Is my progress saved?
Yes, automatically and only on your device. Paintora has no account, so deleting the app also deletes your progress.

Does it work offline?
Yes, all 96 paintings are built into the app. An internet connection is only used for ads, anonymous crash reports and analytics.
